How to Handle Stardoll Copy Cats

Everyone is unique in their own way, but not everyone likes to be original all the time. We call these people "Copy Cats". When we see a person copying us, we tend to jump to conclusions, but it's not always bad. Today I wanted to talk about the very fine line between Good copying and Bad copying.
I got the idea for this post from an example of Good Copying. Everyone has their own opinion of what Good Copying is, but before you copy someone, think about my comments below as I review Club CreationAcademy.

Welcome to CreationAcademy, a new Stardoll Club, owned by user Sillymillie7

I chose CreationAcademy, because it is very similar to my club, E-mazingstories. However, I felt that Sillymillie7 used Good Copying and I feel that in no way was she stealing my ideas. Allow me to explain what she did right and how she could have gone wrong, but she didn't.

Good Copying: If you read About CreationAcademy you'll see that sillymillie7 gave credit to E-mazingstories for inspiring things she used in her Club. This is the most important thing, I think, a Copy Cat needs to do.
Bad Copying: If sillymillie7 hadn't left credit, it would be Bad Copying, because her members would assume she was being original- and that would be lying.

Good Copying: In E-mazingstories I have a contest with 5 rounds called "Miss E-mazingstories" and, as you can see, sillymillie7 is holding a contest called Miss CreationAcademy. The reason this is an example of Good Copying is because she used the idea, but she changed the subjects of the Rounds.
Bad Copying: It would have been Bad Copying if sillymillie7 hadn't changed the subjects of each round. She should have also left me credit in this Topic for taking my Contest idea, but she didn't, so I did it myself.

Good Copying: Another example is that sillymillie7 is using my method for organizing Topics. I label my topics ROLEPLAY:, GAME:, CONTEST:, etc. It's good Copying because she doesn't claim this idea as her own.
Bad Copying: It could be also considered Bad Copying because she doesn't leave credit and she doesn't label every topic.

Next time you copy someone, think about what you plan to do so that it's Good Copying. Also, next time you see someone being a Copy Cat, consider that it might not be because the person wants to steal your ideas. Maybe the person is trying to make you feel honored, because if someone likes your idea enough to use it for themselves, you should feel pretty proud.

    Thank you for Reading!

Tips for Roleplaying Clubs

Just recently I introduced Roleplaying into E-mazingstories, so I feel it's the perfect time to share my Tips for Roleplaying Clubs. I've been a part of the Roleplaying community for multiple years and these are some Tips I found to make a Roleplaying Club successful. I plan to use these Tips in E-mazingstories and I hope you try them in your own Club too!

1) Have a Create a Character Topic - I think that the key to every organized and successful roleplaying club is a Create a Character Topic. I suggest making it a Spot Topic. This will give your members a place to share their character details with other members. It also allows the Owner to see how many people plan on Roleplaying. Below is an example of my Create a Character Topic in E-mazingstories, but your form will vary, depending on what kind of Roleplaying you will be doing.

2) Make Roleplaying Rules - If you want an organized and active Club, then you need roleplaying rules. I suggest including the Rules in the Club Homepage and/or the Create a Character Topic. If you put them in the Create a Character Topic, then the members will be more likely to see them. Use my rules below as an example.

3) Explain How to Roleplay - A lot of members who join Roleplay clubs are new to the subject, but even if they aren't, it's still a good idea to explain to your members how you want them to Roleplay. Some peoples' Roleplaying format is hard to understand, especially if everyone has their own. Use my examples below to decide how you want your members to Roleplay, then I suggest including it in the Roleplaying Rules or Create a Character Topic.

4) Label the Roleplay Topics - The Roleplay Topics in your club will be a lot more active if people can Identify them easier. That's why I suggest labeling your Roleplay topics like shown below and I also suggest labeling other types of Topics too, like games and contests. It's a great way to be more organized and inviting to your members.

5) Show Character Outfits - A fun way to get more into your Roleplay is by showing what outfit your character is wearing. I suggest using Polyvore.com to make a set, because the other Roleplayers will get a visual picture of your characters outfit. Just remember, that posting a link on Stardoll is against the rules, so instead just tell them your username and the name of the set. Here is an example of a Polyvore set:

Let's speed things up...

6) Make Club Sceneries to show what the Roleplay setting looks like.
7) Post upcoming or important Roleplay Topic names on the Homepage.
8) Use the Club Poll to find out which Roleplays your members want more of.
9) Have Roleplay related Contests that involve Polyvore, Creating a Roleplay setting with Sceneries and bringing a Character to life with a Medoll.
10) Delete Spam posts in Roleplay Topics to be more organized.

I hope these tips will help your Roleplaying Club be the best it can be. Please post the name of your Roleplaying Club in the comments and if you plan on using these tips.

About the Stardoll Mystery Symbol

As of Today, I am joining the hunt for the Stardoll Mystery Symbol. If you find and click on this symbol, you will unlock an achievement and be rewarded 15 starpoints. This achievement is called "The Net".

Finding this Mystery Symbol is harder then it seems. The Mystery Symbol can be on any page and it's location changes constantly. The Net's location is randomly selected and the more pages you visit, the greater your chances are of finding it. Don't believe anyone who tells you it is located on a certain page or requires a certain action to make it appear, because the Mystery Symbol doesn't work that way. There is one thing we know for sure, no matter what page it is on, it will always be located in the same place. You can always find "The Net" below the Stardoll logo at the bottom of every page (as shown below).

This is what the Stardoll Mystery Symbol looks like. It's a pink makeup bag with lipstick and mascara poking out the top. It's about the same size as the Stardoll logo.

Thank you for reading and happy hunting!

Edit: I suggest visiting this follow-up post I made on "The Net". It has more information and tricks.

One Step for Gaining Club Activity and Members

Stardoll sends it's members notifications and so I thought, "Why can't I send my members notifications?" I've always notified my Club Members and it's something I wanted to encourage you to do too.
When I notify a Club Member, I post a message in their guestbook.

Why post in their guestbook? If I post in their guestbook that means the member I'm notifying will see it and everyone who visits her page will too. Notifying members via guestbook helps gain new members as well as keep current members active. If a member I'm trying to notify doesn't have a guestbook open for me to write in, I usually message them or write in their sceneries/album.

Below is a list of some of the things I notify my Club Members about.

  • Contest Winner - I notify my Club Members when they win a Contest. It's a great thing to notify them about, because it makes them happy. When other people read their guestbook, they'll know that person is a Contest Winner and they'll also know that your Club has contests.
  • Story Writer - I also notify my Club Members when they haven't continued their Story in a while. It's just a helpful reminder that they should keep writing. It usually works and it's one of the main ways I keep my club active. Plus, it gets my club's name mentioned for people on who visit the writer's page to see.

  • Upcoming Event - I don't notify my Club Members this way very often, but this really helps your club stay active and gain more members. If you have an upcoming event or exciting contest in the club, post about it in your members' guestbooks. If the event is really cool, you'll probably get your club lots of attention.

If you want to get your Club extra attention, then use these Tips when notifying members via guestbook:
  1. Talk about the Prizes: If you have a contest winner, explain what they won. It catches peoples' attention and might make them want to enter the next contest. If you have an upcoming contest, mention what prizes will be given.
  2. Mention the Club Name: You always have to post the Club Name, because if people see something interesting in your notification, then they have to know what Club to join. Just by posting the Club name, you'll improve your chances of getting more members!
  3. Use Exciting Words: If you want people to pay attention, then you must use exciting words (like: huge, mega, the best yet) and make your notification sound urgent by saying "enter asap" or "hurry".
I hope you try notifying your Club Members.

Time Travel Contest Winner

Recently, I held a Contest asking my members  to make up what it would be like if they were to Time Travel. I just chose the winner of the contest, who wrote a lovely entry. In this post I'm sharing the winning short story with you. While you read, ask yourself; Where would you Time Travel?

Time Travel Contest Winner
Short Story
I was at Ruby Tuesdays with my friend Abby celebrating for her birthday when it happened.
We were munching down on Mozzarella Sticks ($4.98) when our waitress, Heather, came over with our ice-cream. But just as we all touched the spoon we were whisked away and ended up on Earth in the middle of London. But it was destroyed and barely recognizable.
"What happened?" Abby asked.
"It looks like a hurricane came through here," I replied.
"Wait. What!?" Heather asked.
"Forgive me if I'm wrong but I believe we just time-traveled," I replied.
"And I didn't get my ice-cream!" moaned Abby.
"Shush! See if a newspaper is around here. We need to find out what year we're in," Heather said, taking charge.
"3079," I replied having found a newspaper.
"You'd think newspapers didn't exist by now," Abby smirked.
"Wait! Look over there!" I yelled.
In the distance I could see two battle lines. So all of us ran over and caught up with a tall man with dark hair.
"What happened?" Heather shouted to him.
"Everyone died. The world experienced 8 plagues." he replied, always keeping his eyes on his enemies.
"SO YOU GUYS ARE GOING TO FIGHT TO THE DEATH!!!???" I screamed.
"We've been at war for years and now only 67 people are left in this world.44 on this side and 23 on theirs. We are winning. And we need the food and water they have." he said.
"Any girls left in this war??"Heather asked.
"One," the man spit out, "on the other side."
"THEN YOU GUYS CAN STILL HAVE KIDS AND THE HUMAN RACE ISN"T DEAD!!" Abby screeched.
"Don't you see?? The human race will never be able to survive without you guys together! Do you really want everyone to die??" Heather reasoned.
"She is my absolute worst enemy. Why would I do that!?" He laughed.
"OK LISTEN UP!! WE ARE DECLARING A TRUCE!!! NO ONE SHOOT!!! IF YOU DECLARE A TRUCE THEN THE HUMAN RACE HASN'T DIED." I yelled impulsively.
"Why would we do that!?" a tall male yelled.
Suddenly I felt a tugging feeling on my back.
"We're being teleported back!" Heather said.
"Promise me one thing. You will make this truce and you will connect with the only girl left and have kids. I don't want this to be the end of the world," I demanded.
"I will." he said before everything turned black.

I'd also like to honor our Second Place Contest Winner stargazl_04, because her entry was equally lovely. To visit stargazl_04's suite and congratulate her, click on this link: http://www.stardoll.com/en/user/?id=205481511

Stardoll Dressups

Sometimes we forget that Stardoll is more then clubs, parties and suites. For most of us, as little kids, Stardoll was about the dress ups. Let's take a moment to remember what we used to love to do. If you're feeling like having a flash back into time, then click the link and relive your childhood with your favorite dress up.

Go to Stardoll dress up games

Stardoll dress ups have improved so much over time. Back when Stardoll was paper doll heaven, it was so basic. Now we are spoiled with these amazing quality look-a-likes of our favorite celebrities. I think too many people take it for granted and forget about where Stardoll had it's beginning. We owe everything to Stardoll Dress ups.

Review of World-of-me's Club Pearl_Writing

Below is a review of World-of-me's Club Pearl_Writing. The advice, tips and suggestions I give to her can be helpful for you too, so keep reading. If you're interested in reading more club reviews click here.
Club Pearl_Writing

First Impression: My first impression of Pearl_Writing is that it's a new club with a lot of potential, but because it's new, I see a lot of mistakes. At first glance it's noobish, but also really cute! :)
Club Name: Pearl_Writing is such a pretty name. I can see it being an exclusive girl club. It makes the purpose of the club very clear, but it doesn't catch my attention. The word Pearl could have been a more exciting word. It doesn't have that wow factor, but since I like stories, I would click on it anyway.
Club Presentation: The format of this presentation is the biggest turn off in the club. It's very noobish and makes the club look sloppy. Honestly, I wouldn't read it. Although, I did read it for the sake of this review and when I did, I was glad. It is so sweet and I loved it, because it shows how kind World-of-me is. If the format of this presentation was improved, it would be perfect. I suggest picking a new format from my stardoll: E-mazingPages.
Club Poll: I enjoyed the club Poll, because it was very neat and used proper grammar. It was a classic question, that would be very helpful towards the club's improvement. It's not super creative, but I would be happy to participate in it.

Club Details: This is why the club is so cute, the details make the club come off as a welcoming place. The owner has such a friendly face and the description is encouraging. My critique about the description, is that World-of-me said both "comps" and "contests", when there is only need for one of those words since they mean the same thing. Other then that, it's great, because it talks about what's inside the club. What's hurting this club is the member count. Because there's so few members, it makes people not want to join, because it appears there's something wrong with the club. When in fact, it's a wonderful club, it's just new.

Club Guestbook: I see nothing wrong with this guestbook. It  just shows more examples of how World-of-me is nice, dedicated and welcoming. I have no bad things to say about it.

Club Topics: This is where it goes down hill. The discussions are very inactive. There isn't a topic with more then 1 reply. I think World-of-me just needs more topic ideas. I see no contests, which would really help activity, especially if it was an active contest. If I joined this club, it would be because it's so cute and World-of-me is so friendly, but when I saw the discussions, I'd unjoin. World-of-me needs to look at the other posts on my blog about improving clubs, it would really help her.

Club Sceneries:
REPEATED ADVICE: There are none. I suggest making at least 1 scenery in the club. It should be a welcoming Scenery, which could go on the front page. You can NEVER be too welcoming. Your members should feel loved.
Overall Opinion:
Overall, this club is so cute. I wish the discussions were better, because I would join in a heartbeat if they were. Until then, it's a work in progress with a ton of potential. I believe World-of-me can make this club great, she just needs to read my blog! ;)

Stardoll in Town View

I recently saw a photo online, which has me very excited. In this photo, it shows Stardoll in a town view. This may be just a rumor, but it looks like Stardoll's next update may be into Town view. There are ideas going around on the internet that it may also be a new StarPlaza. I think it is a new Suite room, like the Penthouse or Beach Villa, but I can't be for sure. If I hear anything more, I'll update this post. If you hear anything before me, please post in the comments.

How will the site change? Is this just a hoax? What do you think?

Is the Stardoll Employee Code Real?

Is it Real?
NO.

The Employee code isn't real. It is a scam.
The point of the scam is that you change your password to letters and numbers that a stranger on the internet claimed to be the code. Then, You email your username to their E-mail. The person now knows your username, and your password because you changed it to what they wanted you to change it to. Instead of being an employee, you got scammed and lost your account.

I googled, is the employee code real, and this came up:

-
This person and the person above type the same. "Lizzy" claims to be staff now.

This answer explains it all very well.

If a person claims to be a stardoll employee, they should have this:
If they don't, then they're lying.

BUT-
Is the employee code even real? No. It's not.
If you want to work at stardoll, you have to fill out an application.

How to: Create a Seasonal Look

How to: Create a Seasonal Look

Mix up your Stardoll Style by dressing with the seasons. By changing your fashion to fit the weather in real life, it shows how in touch you are with real life fashion.

1) Choosing the right Colors is probably the most important part of dressing for the seasons. The colors of nature should show through in your wardrobe and make it easy to tell which time of the year you're dressing for.
  • Winter/Fall
Winter and Fall is the time for cool colors. Think about the colors of nature during these cold months, like blue and white. Also consider darker colors like red, dark green or black. Remember to keep the colors rich, but not too bright as shown in these examples below.
  • Spring/Summer
Spring and Summer is perfect for bright vibrant colors. Think about all the colors in the nature in these colorful months. The flowers bloom in these seasons and so you should take advantage of their colors! Consider warm colors also. I suggest colors like the ones shown in the examples below.
2) After you choose the colors, you must choose the right type of clothes. For this, just think about what you wear during each season. This depends on the temperature and conditions usually.
  • Examples for Winter: Scarves, mittens, beanies, boots, heavy coats, fuzzy things, knit sweaters, long sleeves, straight skirts, leggings, bulky items, layered clothing, etc.
  • Examples for Summer: Airy and loose skirts, baggy pants, capris, shorts, tank tops, crop sleeves, thin fabrics, no layers, open toed shoes, short boots, no socks, etc.

Bonus: Make sure you always use the proper colors and styles in the Beauty Parlor as well as suite. Always consider how you might wear your hair and makeup in real life during these seasons.

How To Make An Amazing 'Scene' Wig: Tips And Tricks!

As you've probably seen, the 'Scene'/'Emo' community has blown up on Stardoll. It's not all about the girl-girls or the hipsters.

You can now on Stardoll create your own hairstyles, and you're going to need a good one if you're going to fit in with the Scene crowd. Here are some tips and tricks on making a really cool one!
(:

We are going to be making this hairstyle:

You can expand it to make it more puffy and teased after it's bought. (:

I made this wig in 3 parts. (You don't need 3, it was originally 2 parts): The bottom half, the top half, and the (optional) extra bangs.

If you want to see how I make the long, bottom half of the hairstyle, I will post another post about it in a couple of days.

Step 1: You're going to want to outline the size and shape of your hairstyle. It will be really tricky to get the outside silhouette of your wig if you start with the inside hair of it.

Step 2: Now that you've got the initial silhouette of your hairstyle, you're going to want to start with filling it in with the basic, large pieces of hair.

Step 3: Now let's start working on the bangs. You can be creative with this, it's whatever you want your wig to look like. c: Here is just a screenshot of what I've done.

(Now you see I used the same type of hairpiece you use for the bottom parts of hair.)
Step 4: Go over the hair you've already put down with the same kinds of pieces, that are the same shape and size. Make them translucent, so they make the hair look soft and fuzzy.

THERE YOU HAVE THE TOP HALF OF YOUR WIG. (:
