As more and more features get added to Stardoll, members express their creativity in a variety of ways. One of these popular ways is shading the face of your MeDoll to make it look more realistic and less cartoon-like. Although some features in the Beauty Parlor offer a little bit of shading itself, it's still not enough to make your MeDoll look realistic and not like a 2D cartoon.

One of these ways is by using Stardesign Hair to create masks that shades the face. Although this way you can create and shade your face however you like, using that method is tricky and expensive.

So this is how you do it with Makeup.

The Complete Guide To Being A *Successful* Stardoll Model

'Modeling' on Stardoll has been a recent trend. And, like all trends on Stardoll, it seems to come out of nowhere, and then people start to loose interest. A quick way to get popular and noticed on Stardoll is to be a main supplier of these trends, promote these trends, or just be really good at it.

Let's take 'presentations' for example. Last year, people were going absolutely insane over the new trend of having a presentation with a background, scroll boxes, fancy fonts and symbols etc. The reason there aren't as many presentation accounts now is because everyone has one of these presentations, and they know how to make their own new one if they get bored of their current one. Its just so abundant on Stardoll now that its expected, and no longer unique. 

That's why the Modeling trend on Stardoll is so unique. Modeling is something so many people want to do! And, like presentation making, wig making, designing etc., modeling does take skill. But, unlike those other trends,  modeling cannot be mass-produced. There will always be something original because you can't create a whole bunch of modeling sceneries for others to use in competitions. It's a unique and original experience, and will go on until the clubs that support and organize modeling clubs seize to exist. But hey, even when the user-supported modeling clubs stop, you can always contact Stardoll themselves and sign up for graphics!

SubCouture - Collection 2 Review

Yesterday, Stardoll launched the second collection of their rare brand, SubCouture. SubCouture is mainly dresses and gowns, but this collection also has a couple tops and bottoms. The dresses range from 21-30 Stardollars. Of course, because this is a rare brand, there is no starcoin items. Sorry non-superstars! Now, let's check out the items in SubCouture. (As you can see from the timer in the corner, there is only 18 hours left of the store being here in Canada, where I live)

The store seems to be divided in half. On the left side, there are more girly, brighter, summery-er dresses. On the left there seems to be more darker, mature, elegant dresses. I really like how original some of these dresses are. Dresses like the Miles Of Chiffon Gown are so simple and basic, but I really haven't seen it on Stardoll. I think items like that are items Stardoll users have been waiting for, only too bad this store is only available to people with large amounts of Stardollars.

As for the individual outfits with a top and a bottom, I don't like them very much. Of course this is just my opinion, but I think they look a lot like other things in Starplaza. The outfit in the middle that is all black I think looks horrible. Plus, if you look at the items individually, they looks worse. The top, in my opinion, is horribly ugly. I just think SubCouture should have stuck with the dresses and gowns. It seems to me that dresses and gowns are what Stardoll is best at!

So, all in all, I think SubCouture is a great store for those who love gorgeous dresses, and have tons of Stardollars to blow. Of course, after today, anything from this collection of SubCouture will only be available in the Starbazaar for way way waaaay more money that it was originally sold for in the store. Luckily for me, I was able to get my hands on some SubCouture items before the store was taken down.

So, this store will be taken down in a couple hours. Do you think Stardoll will put out a Collection 3 of SubCouture? Have you bought anything from this collection? What's your favourite item? I sure hope Stardoll releases a third collection for SubCouture, because I think the dresses are gorgeous. I just hope Stardoll sticks to desiging dresses for this brand, because personally I don't think the outfits are the prettiest.

I think we can probably be looking forward to SubCouture No. 3 in the Summer/Fall, maybe with bright summery dresses and cute, seasonal fall dresses. This collection did great capturing the spirit of winter, as well as the spirit of spring!

Alternative Options To Keep Your Account Safe

Stardoll users have become very crafty with new ideas to have fun on Stardoll, but unfortunately some members abuse these ideas and use it for evil.

MAKEOVERS

I'm sure everyone has heard of giving Stardoll Makeovers. That's where you would give someone your password and allow them to make-over your MeDoll. Stardoll even says themselves on their Safety Quiz *not* to fall for this trick. Users would trick others into giving them their password by providing them references, people who say "this person will not hack you". Of course, you can never be sure and you should NEVER give out your password. But what if you don't know what to do with your MeDoll, and you want a makeover?

The solution:

Stardoll now has the Camera feature. Members are avoiding getting their accounts stolen by doing "photo makeovers". Photo makeovers are where the member giving the makeover would go into your beauty parlor on their own account, do your hair and makeup, then take a picture using the camera feature. You can then easily see your makeover in their album, and you can replicate it yourself. This way, no one goes on your account but you!

PRESENTATIONS

Back a while ago, having a fancy presentation was all the craze. Everyone was so exclusive about their work. They would create a fancy presentation on Microsoft Word or they would HTML code it, and then they would ask for your password to put it on your account. The problem with this was that so many people wanted a fancy pres, they were willing to give their passwords out. Again, people tricked people by showing them "references". People were getting their accounts stolen left, right and center. Everyone wanted a cool presentation, but they had to compromise the security of their account.

The solution:

Users can now drag and drop the presentation by themselves. Also, a lot of people nowadays know how to make their own presentation. The ones who don't know, can get one for free. So many people have blogs. clubs, and accounts with presentations you can drag and drop yourself! 

When I find more alternatives to keeping your account safe I will add them to this post. I hope this helped!

Q: What are hidden stores?
A: Hidden stores are stores that are only visible in other countries. If you don't live in that country, you need a link to get to these hidden stores. When clicked, all the items from the store will be put into your dressing room in Starplaza and you can choose which ones you would like to buy

Q: Is it safe?
A: Of course! All these stores are made and run by Stardoll, you just can't see in in Starplaza in your country.

Q: Do I need to use a proxy?
A: Nope! Stardoll hidden stores you don't have to use a proxy because they are run by Stardoll and not a 3rd party just teaming up with Stardoll! 

Q: How do I get to the hidden stores?
A: First off, you need to have logged into Stardoll on another window. Then, you have to click the link. It will open up another tab in the Starplaza, and your dressing room will be filled with all the store's merch. 

Q: How will I know these links work?
A: I have checked them all (: If the link doesn't work, let me know in my GUESTBOOK or comment below!

Stardoll "Cheats": Myths and Facts

  The promise of Stardoll cheats is everywhere. Nearly every time you go to a dress-up game, to a recent Covergirl's suite, or a popular club, you will see chainmail that promise things that are just too good to be true. Other times, you may be reading a blog that will tell you go to go a site, download software, and it will put stardollars onto your account. Here are the myths and facts about Stardoll cheats like these!

• MYTH: Posting chainletters in guestbooks and sending chainmail will work Stardoll even has on their FAQ that those do not work. All it does is annoy people. Stardoll also makes it clear that those who post them may be banned. 
• FACT: Doing tasks in a certain order will give you rewards
  Doing a series of tasks from your yearbook will earn you rewards when you finish them (:
• MYTH: Downloading a software that generates Stardollars and Starcoins worksI recently got sent a link to stardoll that took me to a website that got me to download a "stardollar generating software" by user queenbee32193 (SHE IS SENDING AROUND A VIRUS). These will just steal your password and you won't be able to get your account back.
• FACT: Joining certain clubs on Stardoll will get you free stuff
  Clubs that are made by companies such as My Little Pony, Barbie, and Littlest Pet Shop etc. sometimes give you a free gift for joining the club. If the club is run by a regular member and require you to go to a link, it is a scam. Use your better judgement and only click on things by real companies, Stardoll, and make sure you do not have to leave the site to get the free things.
• MYTH: Trading or selling something to an account will send better things to your suiteI've seen superstar and royalty members get promised this too often. Basic accounts with a sketchy username usually post spam in their guestbooks getting them to sell them rares, LE, Antidote, and other valuable items promising them the whole LE collection or something too good to be true. NEVER fall for this. EVER.
• FACT: There are 'hidden' stores in StarplazaStardoll 'hides' stores from users. Some stores are only visible in certain countries, or they have just been discontinued but the links haven't been broken. Be careful what links you're following though. Hello! Well, I know I haven't posted in a while, and that's because my computer will not let me save/upload pictures, load youtube videos, load any sound, or open anything. The only thing that works is the internet.

Winning National Covergirl - My Experience

You log on everyday to see there is a new Covergirl, and for your country, a National Covergirl. Every Stardoll user dreams of the day they win one of these, but you really never thought it could happen.

Today, I won.

I woke up, and went to school like every other day. When I came home, I logged on to Stardoll like I do pretty  much everyday. This is what I saw:

There I was, on the front page of Stardoll. When I saw it, I honestly had to refresh the page, and when it was still there, I seriously thought Stardoll was broken. The thing is, I never ran for anything. I had 400sc and 4 stardollars, not even enough to send one broadcast.
Canada is the second largest country in the world. How could it have been me?


I'm sorry, I honestly have no tips considering there is nothing I did any differently when I won this, but this is just a reminder to EVERYONE that you don't have to spend hundreds of dollars on Stardoll. Just keep playing and honestly, one day your dreams might come true like mine. (:

Interview With Canadian MSW Finalist maddie13real!

So, everyone knows MSW ended recently, and congratulations to the winner! Winning MSW is a HUGE deal, but so is being a FINALIST! Here we meet a girl who worked her BUTT off for what she wanted, and TOTALLY deserves that crown! I hope you enjoy seeing MSW Competition from a finalists eyes!

Q: What made you want to become MSW?

My reason for wanting to become MSW is because of how far and improved my doll had become. Throughout the summer I really have improved on my doll and suite tremendously and I FINALLY started to win Nation Covergirl. From there I thought I would have a pretty good chance at winning MSW (through all the lovely comments from very lovely people c; :*).

Q: How did you feel when you got into the Semi Finals/ Finals?

I was so overcome with emotions when finding out! I then realized that I have come such a long way from when I started, never would I have thought I could get this far!

Q: How much, in your opinion would it cost to get into the MSW Finals?

I would say a lot stardollars which would go for buying new clothes for running and broadcasting.

Q: Would you run again next year? What would you do differently and the same?

Yes I would probably run again next year. What I would do differently is to become more organized with my time for running and I would defiantly keep broadcasting which really does help a lot.

Q: What do you think a page needs to become MSW worthy?

Well other than the MSW requirements, a nice doll, suite, and clothes, I would say to be persistent. Even though you notice that not many people are coming to your suite, you have to remember that eventually you will start to get more votes, visitors, and supporters. when the going gets tough, the tough get going.

Q: What is some advice you would give to someone trying to run for MSW?

As I said before, be persistent when when the situation becomes difficult, the strong will work harder to meet the challenge. Also look inspiration to incorporate within your look, suite, clothes, presentation etc. It will most defiantly help you develop your creativity.

   I've decided to start re-making Oliver Syke's Drop Dead fashion line on Stardoll. I know I am not the most best designer, but I am definitely trying my hardest. I don't know when the WHOLE fashion line will be available, but here are the items that are currently available for sale:

Finishing Stardoll Academy ~ Tips To Completing The Last Task

Ever wondered what the last task of Stardoll Academy is, and what the reward for it is? Well, I recently finished, and I thought I'd share so you all knew what you were looking forward to c:

 You also get 15 starpoints, as well as 10 stardollars.

The final tasks is to get 100 hearts on your yearbook (The 'get 15 hearts on your yearbook to complete this task' tasks don't count either. They're talking about 100 new  hearts.)

It's very hard. It took me about a month because I honestly gave up on it for quite a while.

ANYWAYS, If I just did what I've been doing recently, I probably could have finished it in about maybe a week or couple of days. WHO KNOWS.



Tips For Getting 100 Hearts To Finish Stardoll Academy

• Broadcast

You won't need to spend too many Stardollars to broadcast for people to heart your yearbook. Remember that tons of people will see it.

• Write In Guestbooks

Click people that are broadcasting and write in their guestbooks. People usually don't appreciate spam, so  write something nice about their suite in particular so they know that you actually do care. Also, if they're running for covergirl, rate them 5/5. Writing in popular clubs and dressup dolls help too/

• Ask Your Friends

Simply asking every friend that's online to heart your yearbook is probably the most effective. It gives you a way to discuss with them directly. So for say, in return for a heart you could vote them 5/5. It also makes it more personal. (:

How Much Are Stardoll 'Special Offer' Items Really Worth?

You may have these items in your suite, or you may have seen them in someone else's. They have no price, it says 0 stardollars on it, and the brand is a purple star that says 'Special Offer'.

Buut- you can't buy these in Starplaza, and I don't think you can sell them in Starbazaar. The only way to get these items is to be on Stardoll for a certain promotion, earn them by playing other Stardoll apps (Cut-It, Fashion Spin, etc), or completing tasks. When you think about it.... These items are quite rare and valuable.

Here are just some of my Special Offer items:

In my opinion, these clothes aren't not fashionable. They look like the high-end items that no one would ACTUALLY wear, but they're 'fashion'. They look like brands like DKNY and other rare collections.

If the people of Stardoll were smart, they would treat these just like brands like DKNY and Chanel. Because they're such exclusive items, (especially some of the dresses on the bottom like the light blue one and the silver one, you had to buy 6 months of superstar to get those), they should be as valuable as rares, or even more valuable!

ISMRT: "My Rares Have Been Stolen!"

I was going to do a story on this last week, but I felt as if I didn't have enough information. I am so sorry if this post isn't as well-put-together as my other posts usually are, and I am sorry if there is any bad spelling and grammar; I need to get this out before guestbook comments are deleted and I have no evidence.

Alright, so this is what ismrt's presentation says:

9/11 Tribute

Hello. As you know, or may not know, 12 years ago today, two planes hit the World Trade Center in New York.

If you don't know what happened that day, here is an article I found:

•  What happened that day?

On September 11, 2001, terrorists attacked the Unites States. They hijacked four airplanes in mid-flight. The terrorists flew two of the planes into two skyscrapers at the World Trade Center in New York City. The impact caused the buildings to catch fire and collapse. Another plane destroyed part of the Pentagon (the U.S. military headquarters) in Arlington, Virginia. The fourth plane crashed in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Officials believe that the terrorists on that plane intended to destroy either the White House or the U.S. Capitol. Passengers on the plane fought the terrorists and prevented them from reaching their goal. In all, nearly 3,000 people were killed in the 9/11 attacks.

• Who attacked us?

A total of 19 terrorists hijacked the four planes on 9/11. All of the men were from nations in the Middle East. They belonged to a terrorist group called Al Qaeda (ahl KAY-dah), led by Osama bin Laden. Al Qaeda practices an extreme version of the religion of Islam. The group is intensely opposed to the United States and other Western, democratic nations. They are especially against the military presence of these countries in Arab nations. Since the group’s creation by bin Laden in the late 1980s, Al Qaeda has helped coordinate and fund numerous bombings worldwide.

• How did America respond to 9/11?

In October 2001, the U.S. and its allies invaded Afghanistan, where Al Qaeda was based. The extreme Islamic group that ran Afghanistan's government, known as the Taliban, was protecting Bin Laden and allowing Al Qaeda to run training camps in the country. U.S.-led forces soon brought down the Taliban. They are are still working to help rebuild and stabilize the nation. Since 2001, many Al Qaeda members have been captured or killed. On May 1, 2011, U.S. troops killed Bin Laden where he was hiding in Pakistan.

The U.S. invaded Iraq in 2003. Then President George W. Bush and other U.S. leaders believed that the country’s dictator, Saddam Hussein, was hiding terrible weapons that could be given to terrorists. Hussein was captured and later put to death by an Iraqi court. No weapons of mass destruction were found.

• How did America change after 9/11?

Following 9/11, the U.S. government took many steps to try to make the country safer. It tightened security at airports and in public buildings. A new cabinet-level department—the Department of Homeland Security—was created. It works to protect the United States from terrorism.
