The Complete Guide To Being A *Successful* Stardoll Model

'Modeling' on Stardoll has been a recent trend. And, like all trends on Stardoll, it seems to come out of nowhere, and then people start to loose interest. A quick way to get popular and noticed on Stardoll is to be a main supplier of these trends, promote these trends, or just be really good at it.

Let's take 'presentations' for example. Last year, people were going absolutely insane over the new trend of having a presentation with a background, scroll boxes, fancy fonts and symbols etc. The reason there aren't as many presentation accounts now is because everyone has one of these presentations, and they know how to make their own new one if they get bored of their current one. Its just so abundant on Stardoll now that its expected, and no longer unique.

That's why the Modeling trend on Stardoll is so unique. Modeling is something so many people want to do! And, like presentation making, wig making, designing etc., modeling does take skill. But, unlike those other trends,  modeling cannot be mass-produced. There will always be something original because you can't create a whole bunch of modeling sceneries for others to use in competitions. It's a unique and original experience, and will go on until the clubs that support and organize modeling clubs seize to exist. But hey, even when the user-supported modeling clubs stop, you can always contact Stardoll themselves and sign up for graphics!

So, modeling is a great way to get your skill, creativity,  thoughts, opinions, and ideas noticed! I've sectioned this guide into chapters, so if you're looking for help on a specific subject, you can skip ahead, or you can read this all through! Modeling on Stardoll Interview ft. Friedchen and FASH10NISTA

Hi guys! I've found 2 dolls that are models on Stardoll (just like me), Friedchen, and FASH10NISTA. I decided to interview them on their thoughts on Stardoll modeling.

1st interview: Friedchen
Q: How do you feel about modeling on Stardoll?
A: Good, it's a really fun hobby that I think should be recognized more on Stardoll.

Q: Who are the top 3 toughest competitors you've ever faced in modeling, and how did you feel about competing against them?
A: Jebam, Issysmileyface, and Jodierox10. I have no personal feelings about them. They are all talented models. It's always good to have competition, that's what makes modelling fun.

Q: O
A: 8/10, I think i'm pretty experienced with poses because i'm able to do side poses.

Q: What are three things a Stardoll model should be?
A: Kind, hard working, and creative.

Q: Any final advice for people that wan't to be Stardoll models in the future?
A: Take your time in doing your tasks and keep practicing :)

2nd interview: FASH10NISTA
Q: How do you feel about modeling on Stardoll?
A: I think this is a great way to show off people's creativity and to really show how amazing sceneries can be and to see what fashion and poses everyone comes up with.

Q: Who are the top 3 toughest competitors you've ever faced in modeling, and how did you feel about competing against them?
A: I would say 3 of the best that come to mind are: Jodierox10, PrincessxSkye, and issysmileyface as they all come up to amazing sceneries and poses. I love competing against such great models as it makes you try that much harder to get your sceneries up to that high standard, and it wouldn't be so much fun without a little competition. ;)

Q: On a scale of 1/10, how would you rate your posing skills?
A: I would say an 8/10 as I have been proud of some of my sceneries however I still have room for improvement. I think everyone does.

Q: What are 3 things a Stardoll model should be?
A: Hard working (definitely), Creative, and be a Fashionista (sometimes there's fashion tasks in modeling).

Q: Any final advice for people that wan't to be Stardoll models in the future?
A: Don't be disheartened if when you first start our Stardoll modeling and others don't like your sceneries or poses because if you keep practicing then you will get better! Also, remember that Stardoll modeling isn't always just about the pose - modeling is about creating a scene (with decor) but with the main focus on your model. And good luck to any future models, add me on Stardoll or gb me with any questions if you need answers @FASH10NISTA :)

Thank you to Carmelle (FASH10NISTA) and Frieda (Friedchen) for doing this interview with me.

Here is the 2nd place scenery created by Carmelle in cycle 1 of PlatinumModels (my club)

Here is a scenery Frieda created called "Catching Air"
As you can see, they both are very good at posing.

I interviewed stargazl_04 to get an inside look at the world of Stardoll modeling.
Since joining in November 2012, she has had over 35 modeling jobs and opportunities.

Q: What is a Stardoll model and what do they do?
A: A stardoll model is a user that joins modeling clubs and competes in cycles. They fill out a sign up sheet, and wait for the first task. If they get in, then they complete a series of tasks using sceneries and posing skills. One by one, they'll be eliminated. Whoever is the last one standing, wins a cycle. You don't have to join a club to be one. You just need to learn how to round joints, make your poses realistic and have fun with it.

Q: How do you become a model on Stardoll?
A: It's simple, just sign up in clubs. I don't know which one I joined first, KiwiModels or StardollBiffles. If it was StardollBiffles, this was my first cycle I won.

"Don't give up just because you may be/are an amateur. Everybody starts out like that. Just, keep on modelling." -stargazl_04

Q: Who are your favorite models and why?
A: There are so many, so it's a tie between three people; issysmileyface, OrangeHerb, and Jodierox10. All of them are actually very nice. We go to parties together, we chat. We just like having fun.

Q: What makes models successful in your opinion?
A: To some girls, it's obvious; winning, doing amazing poses, being accepted into high professional clubs, etc. Really, it's just the effort. You can obviously see a love for modeling in people's sceneries. That's the most important part.

Q: What common mistake do you see models make?
A: There are many, but mostly it's either they don't have a floor, or they don't have a link for glitches. One website a model needs is Imgur. It's a safe and virus-free website where you can screenshot before you save your sceneries, save it on your sceneries, and post the link. If anybody needs more info, just message me.

Q: How hard is modeling/becoming a model?
A: Once you learn, it's easy. It's just that people don't know how to do it.

Making Sceneries on Stardoll

I bet you've seen those amazing sceneries with the poses and the awesome stuff that takes your breath away! You've probably wondered how they do it, and if you could do it. It doesn't take to much time, and it will sure put your scenery on the front page of somebody's club! It also boosts your chances of winning scenery contests, because it looks like it took more time!

Here are some of my sceneries that I've done as examples:
This one was just arms, but doesn't it make the scenery more creative?
(Notice the doll on the ground's eyes are closed. I did that.)
This one was an animal. I love this one, it's simple... but doesn't it look so beautiful?
This one is just a leg, then can be interesting... I like this one- but it's not my favorite!

I'm going to show you how to make those moving parts and how to make a great scenery! Plus, if you are a member of my clubs on stardoll, it'll help you win my contests. So, read below for your tips!

1. I like having a plain background, but I don't use the comic ones because there are sections and when you try to put things in certain places they may get cut off. I choose the theme that matches my scenery the closest so I'll get some theme items, but then I cover it up with squares. If you make the squares big, you should only need to to cover the scenery background.

Note: You can make squares in the Stardesign interior I believe. Just make a plain square in any color and buy it. Then you can use it in your sceneries. This is the best thing for these kinds of sceneries. I suggest white, black, or blue squares.

2. Pick out a Medoll you like to start with and then depending on what you're doing and how many limbs you're posing... get more of the same person. It's easiest to pick someone with short hair if you're moving arms. Here's what it might look like:

I plan on posing the left arm to bend halfway, so I put the other same Medoll sideways and lined it up halfway with the other doll, see?
3. Now you'll want to cover up every part of the extra Medoll, except the arm and the lower part of the first MeDoll's arm. Use the squares that you used to cover up the background. It should only take two squares for the first part. You just move the 1st square in behind the first doll, then line the bottom of it up just above the arm and the left is covering all the legs. The right should be covering the top half of the extra Medoll's head. The 2nd square is to finish covering the head and fixing my mistake below- the bit of space between the original arm and the body. It will look like this:
(Sorry about my mistake. The space between the body and the original arm would normally be covered by the second white square. I'm fixing it right now...)
Now you just have to cover up the lower half of the first Medoll's arm. Take a square, tilt it to the right and carefully cover part of the lower arm so it doesn't block the leg or extra arm. Then take another square and finish it off. It will only need to be tilted slightly to the right. It might not be perfect for this last square, but look at it. it should be a posing Medoll. Then just decorate it and save it- or add more Medolls... but make sure not to add to many items. Take a look at my final result:
Isn't it so pretty! You can do this easy! Thanks for reading!! ♥
