Guide to having a Popular Club on Stardoll

In this post I will explain how you can achieve and maintain a popular club. I will start from the beginning, because a popular club can only be as strong as it's foundation. If you have any questions, post them in the comments.

Step 1: Creating the Club

Note: If you have already created the club you wish to be popular, use this step as a reference, as you can edit most of the options I discuss here.

This is arguably the most important step to having a popular club on Stardoll. Although there are many factors, the club name is something you can never change, which makes choosing the right one essential.

Choose a Club Name:

Before picking a name, check out the main "Clubs" page. Notice that the popular clubs in each category have these things in common:

  1. In many titles, only the first letter of important words are capitalized. If you want to find out more about title capitalization, click here to automatically capitalize your title correctly. For example: SavetheAnimals, EatLovePray or TheStoryClub.
  2. There are very few titles that include symbols or numbers. I suggest only using them when it's relevant to the club's name. For example: Love2Swim or X-RayClub. If the club name you want is already taken, don't use numbers or symbols to make it original, think of a whole new name. Be completely original, not just as original as you have to be.
  3. All of the titles are easily understandable. When you look at the title of a popular club, you should know exactly what it is about. Don't use acronyms, unless it's a well known one like "LOL" or "DIY".  For example: Do "MilkDrinkers", Don't "MooClub".
Membership Type:
A popular private club is possible, but it's really hard. This will be the easiest part of creating a popular club. Make it "anyone can join."

Step 2: Designing the Club

Note: A club's design is never complete. As your club evolves, so should the aspects that make it presentable. So even if you think your club is good is this aspect, you could still benefit in this step.

The club design is easily the second most important part of a club, behind the name. It is also the most complex aspect. Your design should depend on the atmosphere and features you want to offer at your club. You want your design to be attention grabbing and impressive. If people like the design, they will join.

Club Presentation:

Bonus: For tips and advice on creating club rules, click here to view a previous post.

Every club needs a good presentation. It's a chance to win over potential members, as well as share important information with current members. If you need help learning how to get a presentation, click here to visit a detailed "how to" post on the subject.

When choosing a presentation, consider the following...

  • If you plan on including a long body of text (About the Club, Club Rules, etc.), then you should consider finding a scroll-box for your presentation. Scroll-boxes save space and are more appealing to potential members.
  • Choose a color theme that suits the atmosphere of the club. Always make the text and background high contrast so it's easy to read. For example: If you have a club called "LoveYourself", then you might want an uplifting/bright color palette. To learn more about how colors go together, click here.
  • If you want to emphasize a certain part of the presentation, consider a different background color or flashing text. I suggest keeping the amount of emphasized text to as little as possible, because the more you emphasize, the less each individual part stands out.
While using a colored background or scroll-box, use "Shift" + "Enter" to move down a line.

Here are some possible features for your club presentation...
  • Club Title, Owner Name, Date of Creation, Managers' Usernames (The basics.)
  • About the Club/ Club History (This is where you say why they should join.)
  • Current Events/ Open Contests and Recent Winners (Great way to recognize members.)
  • Club Rules (Say what's specific to your club only. Don't recite Stardoll rules.)
  • Pictures of club events/winners (Including pictures is a great way to break up the mass of text.)
Don't forget to give credit to whomever created the presentation format. This is important.

Club Description:

My advice for the club description is keep it short and sweet. Don't be afraid to brag about the club. Include the main purpose of the club and summary of the things that make it great. Make sure it's appealing to the eyes and when saved, make sure it's balanced evenly. Use proper grammar and always try to appear professional but approachable.

Club Poll:

The club poll is not something to ignore, take it seriously. Make sure to always use proper grammar and spelling in your poll. Make sure the question is clear and the answers represent all the possible responses. You can use the poll to get feedback on club events. You can also use it as a way to spark discussion. My personal favorite is using the poll to advertise club contests by asking if the members have entered yet. It's not the most fun, but it gathers attention.

Cover Scenery:

There are a few things you could use the scenery on the homepage for.

  1. Make a scenery to welcome new members.
  2. Make a scenery to advertise current events and contests.
  3. Have a scenery contest and put the winning scenery on the homepage.
Remember to always use quality sceneries on the front page. If you don't feel confident about your presentation skills, click here to learn more about how to pose.

Step 3: Getting Popular

Getting New Members:

  • Send Broadcasts - It's the most expensive method, but it usually has the best results.
  • Ask your Friends - It's the fastest way, but the results are limited.
  • Post in Guestbooks - It takes the most time, but it's free.
I suggest posting in guestbooks. I have personally used this method and I find it most effective. You can post in any guestbook, but I suggest posting in the guestbooks of people who just broadcasted. Their pages are the most visited. To save time, copy and paste the same message each time. Add a symbol to the end to make sure the message can be posted repeatedly.
  • Get Sponsored - Find popular Stardoll members to join your club. They can get your club more attention.
  • Get Featured on Blogs - Find Stardoll blogs who are willing to feature your club in a post.

Keeping Current Members Active:

The following tips are from a previous blogpost. Click here for the complete list of tips to "Keeping Club Members Active".

  1. Set a Good Example: The owner should be as nice, friendly and active as they want the members to be. Don't be afraid to add your members as friends, because if they like the owner then they'll want to do active things for their club!
  2. Don't let them Forget: Don't be afraid to remind your members. Posting in their guestbook is easy. Remind them to continue a story or role play, tell them about a cool for event, or ask them if they've contributed to a topic yet.
  3. Use Spot Topics Wisely: Lots of people say they visit a club by clicking on Spot Topics. That doesn't mean make random ones, it means make new Spot Topics they're be interested in, as often as possible. I also suggest delete old Spot Topics or moving them to normal topics.
  4. Have Stuff for Members to do: Have lots of things for members to do when they come. If there are only 3 topics, they can't stay long. Make fun games, contests and encourage members to make topics too.

About Club E-mazingstories

About E-mazingstories

Welcome to Club E-mazingstories! I am the founder of this Stardoll community and ever since I created this Club in May 2010, I have been working towards a better Club experience. The original idea for this Club was to provide a safe and fun environment for young writers. This idea was inspired by another Club called YOURstories, which has been deleted. The E-mazingstories you know today has a much larger purpose, because E-mazingstories is now home to games, contests, roleplays, stories and much more. It didn't happen over night though.

Over that past 3+ years I have spent hours each day, active and improving E-mazingstories, to ensure members will enjoy my club. I have easy to follow rules, that help my club stay in the best condition. I have contests with lots of prizes and chances for my members to be featured on the club homepage, because I believe they deserve to be seen.

We are a family and my members come first. I highly encourage you to join the E-mazingstories community. I can guarantee you will be entertained, inspired and encouraged here- wither you be a writer, roleplayer, gamer or just bored. That's what I've worked so hard to accomplish and that's what I promise to continue to provide.

Tips for Roleplaying Clubs

Just recently I introduced Roleplaying into E-mazingstories, so I feel it's the perfect time to share my Tips for Roleplaying Clubs. I've been a part of the Roleplaying community for multiple years and these are some Tips I found to make a Roleplaying Club successful. I plan to use these Tips in E-mazingstories and I hope you try them in your own Club too!

1) Have a Create a Character Topic - I think that the key to every organized and successful roleplaying club is a Create a Character Topic. I suggest making it a Spot Topic. This will give your members a place to share their character details with other members. It also allows the Owner to see how many people plan on Roleplaying. Below is an example of my Create a Character Topic in E-mazingstories, but your form will vary, depending on what kind of Roleplaying you will be doing.

2) Make Roleplaying Rules - If you want an organized and active Club, then you need roleplaying rules. I suggest including the Rules in the Club Homepage and/or the Create a Character Topic. If you put them in the Create a Character Topic, then the members will be more likely to see them. Use my rules below as an example.

3) Explain How to Roleplay - A lot of members who join Roleplay clubs are new to the subject, but even if they aren't, it's still a good idea to explain to your members how you want them to Roleplay. Some peoples' Roleplaying format is hard to understand, especially if everyone has their own. Use my examples below to decide how you want your members to Roleplay, then I suggest including it in the Roleplaying Rules or Create a Character Topic.

4) Label the Roleplay Topics - The Roleplay Topics in your club will be a lot more active if people can Identify them easier. That's why I suggest labeling your Roleplay topics like shown below and I also suggest labeling other types of Topics too, like games and contests. It's a great way to be more organized and inviting to your members.

5) Show Character Outfits - A fun way to get more into your Roleplay is by showing what outfit your character is wearing. I suggest using Polyvore.com to make a set, because the other Roleplayers will get a visual picture of your characters outfit. Just remember, that posting a link on Stardoll is against the rules, so instead just tell them your username and the name of the set. Here is an example of a Polyvore set:

Let's speed things up...

6) Make Club Sceneries to show what the Roleplay setting looks like.
7) Post upcoming or important Roleplay Topic names on the Homepage.
8) Use the Club Poll to find out which Roleplays your members want more of.
9) Have Roleplay related Contests that involve Polyvore, Creating a Roleplay setting with Sceneries and bringing a Character to life with a Medoll.
10) Delete Spam posts in Roleplay Topics to be more organized.

Thank you for Reading!

I hope these tips will help your Roleplaying Club be the best it can be. Please post the name of your Roleplaying Club in the comments and if you plan on using these tips.

One Step for Gaining Club Activity and Members

Stardoll sends it's members notifications and so I thought, "Why can't I send my members notifications?" I've always notified my Club Members and it's something I wanted to encourage you to do too.
When I notify a Club Member, I post a message in their guestbook.

Why post in their guestbook? If I post in their guestbook that means the member I'm notifying will see it and everyone who visits her page will too. Notifying members via guestbook helps gain new members as well as keep current members active. If a member I'm trying to notify doesn't have a guestbook open for me to write in, I usually message them or write in their sceneries/album.

Below is a list of some of the things I notify my Club Members about.

  • Contest Winner - I notify my Club Members when they win a Contest. It's a great thing to notify them about, because it makes them happy. When other people read their guestbook, they'll know that person is a Contest Winner and they'll also know that your Club has contests.
  • Story Writer - I also notify my Club Members when they haven't continued their Story in a while. It's just a helpful reminder that they should keep writing. It usually works and it's one of the main ways I keep my club active. Plus, it gets my club's name mentioned for people on who visit the writer's page to see.

  • Upcoming Event - I don't notify my Club Members this way very often, but this really helps your club stay active and gain more members. If you have an upcoming event or exciting contest in the club, post about it in your members' guestbooks. If the event is really cool, you'll probably get your club lots of attention.

If you want to get your Club extra attention, then use these Tips when notifying members via guestbook:
  1. Talk about the Prizes: If you have a contest winner, explain what they won. It catches peoples' attention and might make them want to enter the next contest. If you have an upcoming contest, mention what prizes will be given.
  2. Mention the Club Name: You always have to post the Club Name, because if people see something interesting in your notification, then they have to know what Club to join. Just by posting the Club name, you'll improve your chances of getting more members!
  3. Use Exciting Words: If you want people to pay attention, then you must use exciting words (like: huge, mega, the best yet) and make your notification sound urgent by saying "enter asap" or "hurry".
I hope you try notifying your Club Members.

Review of World-of-me's Club Pearl_Writing

Below is a review of World-of-me's Club Pearl_Writing. The advice, tips and suggestions I give to her can be helpful for you too, so keep reading. If you're interested in reading more club reviews click here.
Club Pearl_Writing

First Impression: My first impression of Pearl_Writing is that it's a new club with a lot of potential, but because it's new, I see a lot of mistakes. At first glance it's noobish, but also really cute! :)
Club Name: Pearl_Writing is such a pretty name. I can see it being an exclusive girl club. It makes the purpose of the club very clear, but it doesn't catch my attention. The word Pearl could have been a more exciting word. It doesn't have that wow factor, but since I like stories, I would click on it anyway.
Club Presentation: The format of this presentation is the biggest turn off in the club. It's very noobish and makes the club look sloppy. Honestly, I wouldn't read it. Although, I did read it for the sake of this review and when I did, I was glad. It is so sweet and I loved it, because it shows how kind World-of-me is. If the format of this presentation was improved, it would be perfect. I suggest picking a new format from my stardoll: E-mazingPages.
Club Poll: I enjoyed the club Poll, because it was very neat and used proper grammar. It was a classic question, that would be very helpful towards the club's improvement. It's not super creative, but I would be happy to participate in it.

Club Details: This is why the club is so cute, the details make the club come off as a welcoming place. The owner has such a friendly face and the description is encouraging. My critique about the description, is that World-of-me said both "comps" and "contests", when there is only need for one of those words since they mean the same thing. Other then that, it's great, because it talks about what's inside the club. What's hurting this club is the member count. Because there's so few members, it makes people not want to join, because it appears there's something wrong with the club. When in fact, it's a wonderful club, it's just new.

Club Guestbook: I see nothing wrong with this guestbook. It  just shows more examples of how World-of-me is nice, dedicated and welcoming. I have no bad things to say about it.

Club Topics: This is where it goes down hill. The discussions are very inactive. There isn't a topic with more then 1 reply. I think World-of-me just needs more topic ideas. I see no contests, which would really help activity, especially if it was an active contest. If I joined this club, it would be because it's so cute and World-of-me is so friendly, but when I saw the discussions, I'd unjoin. World-of-me needs to look at the other posts on my blog about improving clubs, it would really help her.

Club Sceneries:
REPEATED ADVICE: There are none. I suggest making at least 1 scenery in the club. It should be a welcoming Scenery, which could go on the front page. You can NEVER be too welcoming. Your members should feel loved.
Overall Opinion:
Overall, this club is so cute. I wish the discussions were better, because I would join in a heartbeat if they were. Until then, it's a work in progress with a ton of potential. I believe World-of-me can make this club great, she just needs to read my blog! ;)

Thank you for reading!

Multiple Discussion Pages

My Biggest Pet Peeve

Most Clubs have more then 1 Page of Discussions, and while that means they have more topics, it doesn't always mean more activity. I've surveyed members of my own club and I've noticed that many of them forget to check the 2nd page of Discussions. It's not their fault.
    I forget too.
Those topics generally aren't on the first page for a reason. They're not as posted in and therefore not as fun? Maybe. In my club, I hate having more then one page. It bothers me. I try to sort through and get rid of unneeded topics that push it to 2 pages. I notice that if you have more then 2 pages, your club is less active. It's my biggest Pet Peeve and a very important one. I think these tips can help you solve this problem.

  • Set up rules to stop spam/advertising/chain mail topics
  • Have topics for all questions, comments, suggestions, and thank yous to be posted in
  • Make rules so every topic not posted in at least once a week will be deleted
  • Limit the amount of topics a member can post a week, a month, or at once
  • Set up lots of reminders to check the 2nd page: In presentation, poll, guestbook, etc
  • Post in the least active topics and move up the list to the top

I hope these tips help. I encourage you to keep your Topics under 1 page. It will make it easier to be active and you can see them all at once. Good luck! ♥

Owner of first Stardoll Club: robin

This is robin, he was the previous owner of Stardoll's first club; OriginalClub It had hundreds of thousands of members. It was huge, sadly it was deleted. He is in my opinion Stardoll famous. He's been around for years and it seems that a lot of people recognize his username as the great guy who created the hang out spot nicknamed; OC. Many have recreated his club, but none quite the same.

After OriginalClub was deleted, he didn't make another club. As of February 7th, he was only a member of 3 clubs (2 he is managing). I am lucky enough to be on robin's friend list and this morning he happened to be online. My club E-mazingstories had 1699 members and I got the coolest idea that what if robin was my 1700th member? It would be an honor for me. I ask him and crossed my fingers. Later, I hadn't thought he'd joined, but to my delighted surprise he joined my club! This is a big deal to me, because my club is the 4th club he's a member of. It's an honor to have this amazing guy in my club, it raises the bar for me as an owner and makes me super happy. I don't know how long this will last, but I hope he sticks around! I saved our conversation special for my blog, so take a look:
Me: This is not a duplicate. I was wondering if you'd do me the honor of being the 1700th member in my club, E-mazingstories? It's really fun, I promise. If you don't like it- you can unjoin, but I'd really appreciate it! Thank you...
robin: ☺ Me: I don't think I've ever talked to you before, so this is cool. Thanks for at least reading my message. robin: sure, but i don't really join a lot of clubs nothing personal Me: I understand, I don't either, but it was worth a shot. robin: i read everything.... just don't always have time to reply Me: Oh okay, cool. If you don't join my club, would you mind telling me what you think of just the front page? Your club was obviously a big success so... it would be super cool.

Him: Looks nice!
Me: Thank you!
Him: ☺

Thank you, robin! ♥

Club Reviews: Advice, Suggestions & Ideas

Club Reviews

I want to help people improve their clubs, so even if these aren't your clubs I'm reviewing, the advice I will give is for everyone. Just take a look and I'm sure something will help you improve your own club! :)

Club #1: Eclipse.High.RP
First Impression: It appears to be neat, that the Owner cares, and it has Potential.

Club Name: The name itself is unique, but the idea of a High School Role play is very over used- not to say that this is a bad club, but it might not stand apart from the rest.
Club Presentation: The good; It's short, which might make people more eager to read it. The bold lettering catches your attention. It's short and to the point. It looks organized. The bad; It has spelling/grammar errors. I notice that first. It could have a fancy format, but that's not a big problem. (Visit E-mazingPages) It shouldn't say the club is average, it should say the opposite!
Club Poll: Fail. I'm sorry, but it's VERY simple to make a Poll. Even leaving it blank is better then this club's Poll, which is currently just a bunch of dots "...". I suggest a Poll about the members' opinions on an upcoming event or how to improve the club.
Club Details: I love it. The description is short and catchy. It has a good amount of members and the owner's picture looks quite friendly. Those 3 things are important.
Club Guestbook: It is empty, except for 1 post, which is an advertisement. That's a no-no. That looks like the club is not active. I suggest deleting the advertisement and write a welcoming message instead. That makes a good impression.
Club Topics: An active club is important and the most recent posts were 19 hours ago and 1 day ago. The rest were on average, 6-7 days ago. I suggest holding an active contest. If nothing else works, the owner should be active. Slowly others will join in. I like the choice of Spot Topics, their are maybe too many though. The other topics are very uniform- I like it. There are too many topics though, which is a waste of space, and some have 0 replies. I suggest clearing out.
Club Sceneries: There are none. I suggest making at least 1 scenery in the club. It should be a welcoming Scenery, which could go on the front page. You can NEVER be too welcoming. Your members should feel loved.

Overall Opinion: This club seems above average. I think the owner cares a lot about the club and it shows. It's nearly complete and has a lot of potential. I think all it needs is active members. It's worth joining in my opinion! :)

Club #2: Words_On_Paper
First Impression: It looks like an experienced club, with not a lot of wow factor but a lot of effort and a lot happening inside.

Club Name: The name is unique. It relates to the purpose very well and is catchy. Story clubs can be over used, but they can never be over appreciated! There's so much to love!
Club Presentation: The good; It's elegant and has a picture, which is nice. It's easy to read and shares a lot about the club. It mentions things that if read, would make me want to join. The bad; It doesn't jump out at me and I might not read it. It needs some bold lettering or contrast to catch my attention.
Club Poll: It's a classic, simple and helpful poll. It's a bit boring though, mostly because I'm already a member and this Poll has been the same forever. It should be changed to keep members interested in it.
Club Details: It has a great # of members and the owner looks creative and dedicated. The description is inviting and short, but maybe a little too simple. It should be more encouraging or boast about the club just a bit.
Club Guestbook: It's empty, but I don't think that's bad in this case. I think it just means everybody's in the topics. Maybe a welcome message, but it's not always needed.
Club Topics: They appear semi active, but the thing that turns me off is that a spot topic says 2 weeks ago. Especially spot topics shouldn't be inactive. Their are topics with hundreds of posts, which is good. It shows the club is active in that way, and aged. I like the variety of topics and how a majority are stories. I think some games might help members be active.
Club Sceneries: REPEATED ADVICE; There are none. I suggest making at least 1 scenery in the club. It should be a welcoming Scenery, which could go on the front page. You can NEVER be too welcoming. Your members should feel loved.

Overall Opinion: I was happily surprised by this club. I think the presentation and lack of members is deceiving because It's actually a very cool club and the owner is VERY nice and active. I suggest this club because it reminds me of mine in some ways. I know some day it will be big! :)

Club #3: Twisted_Tales

First Impression: Honestly, a good attempt but possibly not a good club. (Keep reading. I prove myself wrong!)

Club Name: Really cool, and I love it. It sounds fantasy and fun! It doesn't tell me what the club's about though, my guess would be fantasy or stories?
Club Presentation: The good; It's really easy to read and I love the bits of color that pop out at me. It makes it fun and organized. I like the content too, it's inviting and makes me want to join. The bad; The bold lettering is my only bad thing about the presentation. It is hard to read, but I like the idea of bold lettering, so I suggest just changing the font.
Club Poll: I really like it, it's relevant and fun- but also slightly funny!
Club Details: It's a small club so far, but the description is good. It looks official and to the point. I like it. The owner looks like the perfect person for a club like this, which I really like.
Club Guestbook: It has lots of posts, which are friendly discussion between members. I really like that. It feels friendly and homey. It makes me want to join in!
Club Topics: There's a perfect amount of topics, I love it, but they are not active. Most says 0 replies or are a few days old. I see some talk of contests, which catches my attention. I also like that there are lots of topics for the members to advertise, comment, etc. The topics have a lot of potential.
Club Sceneries: Repeated Advice; There are none. I suggest making at least 1 scenery in the club. It should be a welcoming Scenery, which could go on the front page. You can NEVER be too welcoming. Your members should feel loved.

Overall Opinion: This club is beyond average. It has a lot of dedicated members and HUGE prizes for contests. I love this club, not only because I'm Co-Owner, but because it's always improving and a great writing environment. :)

How I got 1473+ Members

Over 2 and a half years ago, I created my club E-mazingstories.  As of today, 12/11/12, I have exactly 1473 members in my club.

The number of members is constantly growing. I am very proud of my club and I know lots of other Stardoll users would like to get that many members. I'd like to share some ways I helped gain all these members and how you can do it too!

  1. Be Active- It's important and it shows in the quality of your club.
  2. Have a Good Presentation- That's the first thing that members see so make it stand out from other clubs and set a good example for the discussions. Find out more about how to get a fancy presentation by visiting my Stardoll account E-mazingPages.
  3. Enticing Front Page- People who visit your club should be begging to join. Entice them with contest details and don't be afraid to boast about the club!
  4. Have Invite Contests- If you have loyal members already and pretty good prizes then this can be successful.
  5. Broadcast your Club- You don't have to pay. Click on broadcasts and advertise in their guestbooks!
  6. Give it Time- If you're a good owner then members will come with time. Be patient.
These are the main ways that I've gathered members. Just remember that a successful club doesn't happen overnight and it's only going to succeed if you go all out and try hard! Good luck always! :)

Tips for Keeping Club Members Active

I know how hard it is to go members of your club active, it takes a long time to gain their loyalty and activity. Here are some tips for keeping your club members active, I hope it helps!

  1. The Owner should be nice, friendly and as active as they want the members to be. It sets a good example and if they like the owner they want to do active things for their club. So don't be afraid to add your members as friends!
  2. Lots of people say they visit a club by clicking on Spot Topics- but that doesn't mean make random ones. It means make new good Spot Topics they're be interested in as often as possible. I also suggest delete old Spot Topics or moving them to normal topics.
  3. Have lots of things for members to do when they come. If there are only 3 topics, they can't stay long. Make fun games, contests and encourage members to make topics too.
  4. My club rules help from keeping old topics or boring topics around. I suggest deleting advertising topics, old inactive topics and topics that members can't really do much with. It's good to inform members of what you plan to do so they don't get mad or confused though...
  5. Be organized and always make sure you know what's happening in your club- if you don't, neither do your members. You should post topics with clear titles that explain what they are and could also post updates on the home page for current events.
  6. Don't be afraid to remind your members. With my rules, it gives me lots of chances to remind them. Posting in their guestbook is easy. Remind them to continue a story or role play, tell them about a cool for event, ask them if they're contributed to a topic yet.
  7. Give your members a chance to be seen. Everybody likes to be seen, so make the prizes for contests things like MeDoll/Photo on the homepage, cover scenery, mentioning in poll, contest in honor. Another way is to have ways for them to get free broadcasting or their poll for the club's poll.

Thank you for reading, I hope these help you. This is how I run my club and it works good. E-mazingstories has a lot of members who visit daily and are very active. I wish you good luck with your clubs too! :)

Q's & A's about E-mazingstories

These are questions asked by supersassy1233: (1) Did you expect E-mazingstories to be such a big hit, the club has almost 1300 members? My Answer: Aww... thanks for calling it a hit-um, I always try my hardest at whatever I set my mind to and I had hoped it would one day have over a thousand members. I'm just so proud of my club and how amazing my members are. They're so active, nice and I've made a some great friends out of them...
(2) How did you come up with the idea for E-mazingstories? My Answer: Well, at the time I had another club called E-mazingGirlz or something like that and I was continuing the pattern of using my name in the title- plus I was making a story club because of the amazing club I wrote my story in called YOURstories, which was sadly deleted for a reason I never found out for sure.
(3) What do you think is the best way to get members to be more active? My Answer: It's so hard to get people to be active, but I think the best way to get them to be active is for the owner to be active. I see clubs that the owner only posts in once a week, so why should the members be any better?

(4) How do you come up with great contests? My Answer: I'm usually exploring other clubs when I'm not in E-mazingstories. Most of my Contest ideas are inspired by other amazing clubs like SD-Designs, Words_On_Paper, etc. I like easy contests that let the members be create or share their opinions on things! I leave credit if I copy a contest close enough to theirs.

(5) Finally, do you have any tips for people who want their clubs to be more successful? My Answer: It's going to take a while. My club took over 2 years to get to this point. I worked almost everyday posting in it and helping it grow. I haven't broadcast that much, it's mostly just time and waiting for the right members to join who will help it to reach it's full potential. It's important to have something original and exciting. Always be organized and detailed so your members know what's going on! I wish good luck to all clubs! ♥

20+ Game Ideas

I think an Important part of a club on Stardoll is to have Games. It keeps members active and they're really fun. I thought I'd share some Games with you that you could post in your Clubs. Some of them I made up, and so when I say to leave credit to me... please do. I hope these are good Games, I know I like them...

First off, I'll do my Game Ideas:
Just say "Idea by E-mazing, Join E-mazingstories!" That's my favorite way to leave me credit, Thank you! :)

1) The Importance Game:
This is the Importance Game. Look at the post above yours and list the 3 things in Order of Importance (1 being most Important and 3 being least), then you Post 3 new things for the person below you to list in order. 2) The Inspiration Game: This is the Inspiration game! All you do is look at the post above yours that will have a prompt and then write a short paragraph of a story using the prompt, then post your own prompt! 3) Ready or Not: This is the Ready or Not Game. The Post above you will have a Place, then you say if you're Ready (Meaning you'd go there) or Not (You wouldn't go there). If you say ready then say the first thing you'd do there, if Not... don't put anything else. Then post another place for the person below you! 4) I feel like there's another one, but I can't remember! Oh well... Second, These are Other Ideas: 1) Name/Age/Job Game: Say what you think the person above you should be named, what job they should have, and how old. Example: Name: Job: Age: 2) Name that Song Game: Type part of the song, and then the person below you will try to guess it, and Then they post type of their Song! This is a fun game, but don't forget to come back and say what part of song you posted! 3) True or False Game: I'll start with a statement about the person who will reply below and he/she must say if it is true of false, then post another statement of their own. Easy, right? Hope you enjoy. 4) 5 Letter Game: I've picked five letters, And I've listed them. you make up a sentence with the letters. And then next person has to make a sentence using just the five letters, Like this: L I I T A=Love is in the air. Then leave your five letters. 5) I Drop Game: Okay, this is how to play. You just think of something to drop. Anything. Then the other person leaves a comment how it feels and what they dropped. 6) Rate the Person Above you: Rate the person above you with smiles ! Rate them 1 / 5! 5 is the highest rating! OR Rate the person above you from 1 to 10! 7) Yes or No Game: Okay heres how it works the person on top of you asks a question and you answer yes or no. Example start with me: Do you like Pizza? 8) A, B, C or D: The person above you will put in there post (A, B, C, or D ). After each letter put a Food, Singer, or anything. The person underneath will put which one they like best and then make another Poll. 9) What would you Cook: You give a cooked Item and the person below you rates it 1 to 5 on how much they'd like it. 5 being the best. Then they post another Cooked Item, Example: Mac n Cheese 10) Eat it or Pass it: You say a Food, then the person below you says Eat it or Pass it, then they List a new food for the person below them. 11) Wear it or Share it: You say an Item/Beauty Accessory and the person below you says if they'd wear it or share it, then they post their own Item/Beauty Accessory. 12) Continue the Story Game: A Story is started and each post adds a sentence to the story, helping it grow to a huge story. 13) Word Game: I write one word and you have to use the letters that appear in the word, you can't repeat the letter unless the word has repeated letters (like "less") ok so here is an example: Word given: Dog Other words: God, do, go 14) Guessing Game: You have to guess the first letter of the person's name below you, then they say yes or no and guess another letter. 15) Guess Who: Guess who the Celebrity is based on the 2 hints given by the Person above you, then List two hints for a Celebrity of your choice and the person below you will guess! 16) What's your favorite: The person above you will have said for example: "What's your favorite Cheese?" then you say what your favorite Cheese is Chedder, then you post your own what's your favorite, for example: "What's your favorite color?"
17) Rhyming Game: Make a long rhyme. Everyone adds a sentence that rhymes to the story and it grows. For example: Look at the sky, it might cry, i can fly, etc.
18) Look-A-Like Game: Hello dollies this is a game called Celebrity look-a-like game, what you have to do is look at the doll above you and post which celebrity you think they look like most.. sounds fun?
19) Alphabet Soup Game: Someone starts with A stands for... (Something that starts with A), then every post moves on another letter until you get to Z, then you start over again with A stands for....
20) Slam the KeyBoard: Just slam the keyboard once and make a sentence out of the letters. Make sure your max amount of letters is 6.
There are so many amazing Games out there, these are just the Beginning! Most of these I have in my Club, but some are from SD-Designs and Win.CG which are both also great. Just surf around and you'll find amazing Games to play! Thank you for reading and I hope these games helped! Remember to leave credit! ♥

Tips on Club Rules

A lot of clubs make rules. They can be really simple, or really strict and confusing. I want to share some good ideas for rules and creating rules. They were pretty different depending on what your club is for. Hope these help...

Tips on posting Rules:

  1. Always make sure you are clear in what you mean. Don't be afraid to use details.
  2. I think it's good to use a symbol or number to mark each separate rule.
  3. If your rules are basic, I'd put them on the cover. If they're more strict/complex make them a topic so members can ask questions or comment.

Tips on creating Rules:

  1. If you have rules for old topics, your club wont look so inactive. It also might encourage members to be active. You could say after a week a topics deleted or later. Remember to say you'll remind members before you delete.
  2. Making rules that say people can't fight in the club are a good idea. It makes sure your club doesn't get deleted because of fights.
  3. Another good idea is to make rules against spam. Especially those chain mails. They DON'T WORK!!
  4. Some people have rules on Games, what kinds of games and how many games there are. If you're worried about people's feelings then this might be good. I think that for the rating games, it's play at your own risk. (Of course you should never be mean and rate too low!) Also, it'd be good if you don't want a bunch of games to take away from what the club's for.
  5. Advertisements can be a problem too. I think it's sad not to have anywhere for members to advertise. That's why I use SHOUT OUTS. I talk about those in another of my blog posts. A lot of other people have a topic for advertising though...
  6. Make sure that everyone knows that ALL stardoll rules apply. Don't let them get away with cursing or trading/selling accounts. It can get your club deleted. I suggest having a system like so many strikes then they're banned.
  7. If it's a writing club- or any other club- it's good to talk about not copying or stealing ideas. Everything should be original or at least credited to the creator. This is really important.
  8. You could have rules about being active, but I think banning someone for being inactive isn't good. Then you're minus members.
  9. You could have rules about talking about things that aren't club related.
  10. Maybe rules for how to write or how to role play. They might be a good idea so you can understand people, but it might be pretty strict...

Here are my Rules for my Club E-mazingstories:

All my club members seem to be okay with these. They say these are fair rules. They say they are easy to understand (except for #7) and they say they're awesome... I can't disagree! This is one way to format your rules in a topic.

Here are the Club rules in SD-Designs:

These are pretty good rules. I consider these more strict rules. Her members say okay to them mostly, they also say "good rules". I think some of the things that make them more strict, also make them not so fun to me. I love the club, but you can't do rating games. That's the 1 I disagree with, but they really do hurt feelings sometimes. This is another way to format rules in a topic.

Here are the Club rules for Words_On_Paper:

These are presentation rules. They are pretty basic, but good. I haven't seen any member comments on these rules, but I think they're fair and pretty generous.

Hope you enjoy these Tips and Examples!

Restarting Clubs

I think that almost everyone creates a club right when they can. They call it something silly or common. Then they grow up a little, give it some time and think... "This club isn't good." So then they want to start over. They don't want to loose their members, they don't want to wait 7 days or a month to create a new one- so what do they do? They restart. But how do you make it any better then the last attempt? This is how...

When you originally create a club, I suggest thinking it over EXTREMELY well... if it's a themed club then it can be hard to keep active. Certain people will not like that thing and not join and it's usually the themed names that make it hard to start over. Most people create some club called "FunRolePlay" or "MakeoverMeDolls" and then when they start over they come to a stop and say "How can I make this into something else? It so specific!" Here's tip one on just this: #1: If the name is specific to a theme or something, then just keep a little bit of that in the club. Don't totally abandon it. If it's an old role play club, embrace that. Just make sure people know that's not all you do. I had troubles with that and my main club E-mazingstories. It is specific, but I just made sure that we had other things. We have contests and games. Stories is the name... and we do have stories... but it's for anything really! I suggest mentioning the old theme somewhere on the front page and have a few topics about it. The only place I mention stories is in the Description and I have stories in the topics. Specific themes can't hold you down anymore! :)

The topics can be hard to let go. They might have old contests, stories, games, role plays, etc. When They start over, most people think to delete them all. They might be all about the old theme or just really old and inactive. Here's my tip two: #2: I have redone my clubs before. I change the presentation, description, poll and stuff without thinking... but the topics people forget. They delete them all because they think "Start over means nothing!" But does it? I don't think so. History is good. Just sort through your topics. I do suggest deleting old contests and things like that. However, I'd look through old games and role plays if you like them then you can either make a new topic for the same old game or just post and make the old topic active again. If your club looses all it's topics, it's empty and empty clubs aren't fun. But also, don't overload on new topics either. Make a few topics and see how it goes. Nothing in the topics is boring, but to many can make it hard to be active. So find that balance and your new club will be better!

When they restart their club, they can wonder how to get their members attention again. Maybe they weren't active because they didn't like the theme, but they probably will now right? But how? Here's tip three, right here: #3: When you are finished with everything else, that's when you should start celebrating. Make it exciting. If you don't have too many members, then I might go suite to suite posting in their guestbook to let them know about the change. You could say "My club (Name) has started over, with better everything! Come get back into the games, contests and fun! It's gonna be great!" That would be good. I also suggest making a special contest for the opening(Remember that you MUST send prizes if you promise them). Then I also suggest a spot topic talking about why you started over, what has changed and what will change. It's also a good time to get more members. You don't have to broadcast unless you want. Tell people in their guestbook. Click and broadcasts and do it their. It can be awesome, it just takes time!

I hope you learned a little bit! If you have any more questions, remember to ask. Plus... if you want tips on anything just tell me! Thanks for reading! ♥
