Tips for Writing on Stardoll

  Tips
  •    Anytime you write on the internet, it's out there. I'm sure you've heard it a million times, but it's true. Especially writing. So think before you post, yes about your safety, but mostly about the safety of your writing! Think about all the eyes that will see it. They could copy it or make a similar writing. So always make sure before you post that it isn't a future best seller type of story or somebody else might be the one making the big bucks!
  •      Another great thing about writing is that everyone can write and somebody out there will love it. There are so many people that share the love of reading and writing, especially on Stardoll. I think it's important to find a good club to write in. The club should be active and supportive. You'll get more attention for your writing from an active club. Also pick a club based on the genre of story. Some clubs might like more fantasy or other types then others.
  •      When you write on Stardoll you need to make it follow Stardoll's rules. If you break them, even in writing, it will probably get you a warning or even deleted. If you don't want to take out the rule breaking content from the story, then I suggest writing it first somewhere else, then editing it to make it Stardoll appropriate. You could first write it in word, or another site.
  •      A good thing to make people want to copy your work less, is if you tell them it's copyrighted. It's simple, post it on Wattpad. That site let's you pick to copyright your work, then when you write it on Stardoll, you can warn them! I think it's a smart idea and it's one I used to use...

5 Tips to Gather Attention to your Contests

1. In the title of the contest, make it sound good like: win big, prizes, enter asap, etc.

2. Also in the title, say what the contest is about, like: Scenery contest, invite contest, etc.

3. Make the prizes sound big, even if they aren't, and throw stuff in like 5/5 votes.

4. If you have some money to send prizes, but you don't want to give a lot, make a range. Like if you want to spend 5, say: 5-7 Stardollar gift

5. Give clear, numbered instructions. Make it easy to understand but seem easy and quick to do.

How to make a Beauty Pageant Sash

I promised a prize for a Contest in my Club, which was a Sash like a Beauty Pageant  Winner would wear. It would say Miss E-mazingstories. I announced the winner (Glittergirl208, Congrats!), and I realized I really had to make it. It's a really cool Item, so someone else requested one (princessnazy123). I'll show you how to make one using hers as an example, just keep reading!

Tips for Keeping Club Members Active

I know how hard it is to go members of your club active, it takes a long time to gain their loyalty and activity. Here are some tips for keeping your club members active, I hope it helps!

  1. The Owner should be nice, friendly and as active as they want the members to be. It sets a good example and if they like the owner they want to do active things for their club. So don't be afraid to add your members as friends!
  2. Lots of people say they visit a club by clicking on Spot Topics- but that doesn't mean make random ones. It means make new good Spot Topics they're be interested in as often as possible. I also suggest delete old Spot Topics or moving them to normal topics.
  3. Have lots of things for members to do when they come. If there are only 3 topics, they can't stay long. Make fun games, contests and encourage members to make topics too.
  4. My club rules help from keeping old topics or boring topics around. I suggest deleting advertising topics, old inactive topics and topics that members can't really do much with. It's good to inform members of what you plan to do so they don't get mad or confused though...
  5. Be organized and always make sure you know what's happening in your club- if you don't, neither do your members. You should post topics with clear titles that explain what they are and could also post updates on the home page for current events.
  6. Don't be afraid to remind your members. With my rules, it gives me lots of chances to remind them. Posting in their guestbook is easy. Remind them to continue a story or role play, tell them about a cool for event, ask them if they're contributed to a topic yet.
  7. Give your members a chance to be seen. Everybody likes to be seen, so make the prizes for contests things like MeDoll/Photo on the homepage, cover scenery, mentioning in poll, contest in honor. Another way is to have ways for them to get free broadcasting or their poll for the club's poll.

Thank you for reading, I hope these help you. This is how I run my club and it works good. E-mazingstories has a lot of members who visit daily and are very active. I wish you good luck with your clubs too! :)

Paint.NET Tip

I use Paint.NET and it is so amazing. It allows you to do so many amazing things. I really suggest downloading it. It's free too, so you can always delete it if you change your mind. I doubt you will though, so here's a Tip to help you get started with it!

GOAL: You can overlap pictures then erase parts of it to make it look like a part of the original picture. You can do this multiple times.

This is how I did it. It's actually quite simple.  Start by opening the picture you'd like as a background or would like to start with. The open button is on the upper left area.

Next click on the Layers, then push add from file. You'll want to choose the picture with something you'd like to add to the original picture. I chose adding another Medoll to this Suite. It will appear over the original picture.

Then I use the erase tool to erase everything around the Medoll in the new picture. It's really simple, you can make the brush size bigger or smaller and zoom in for details if you like. Both those options are on the top on the page. The eraser looks like this though.

Taking Things Back

It's really hard to make decisions for your club, but it's even harder to take them back. People may get angry with you. They may question you. That's all right. I've taken back quite a few big decisions. It's also important to make the best decisions, the first time. So here are some ideas on how to make good choices for you club.
  • Don't make big decisions on a whim, think about them over night and create them the next day.
  • Ask your members what they think, have a survey or just ask around. Keep in mind, that you should do what you are happy with too.
  • Mention while you're doing it that you're unsure if it will stay forever, so they will have been warned you might take it away.
  • Post it when nobody's on, then just look at it. You'll get a feel for what it will be like and then decide if it's good. If not, you just delete it.
I have made a lot of decisions for my club. I've had big contests, advertising programs, clubs based on my main club and positions for members. My club has come a long way. I've taken back two big things that come to mind. Those things are: Having less Special Managers and Removing PinknMe as Co-Owner.

 1) I decided to have less Special Managers because I wanted it to be more special. I want it to be a few select people. Originally I had quite a few. Nearly 20. Now I have about 10 or so. I didn't just randomly do this. I had to take bad my decision gracefully. I had a contest so they could stand up for their place in the club. I explained how sorry I was and how lucky I was that they accepted in the first place. I would be sad to see them go, but I knew they'd all be back some day.

 2) Another thing I took back was PinknMe as Co-Owner of E-mazingstories. She was my sister, I thought it was perfect. I would remind her to be active. She would help me. Nope. She did nothing. Sometimes that's what happens. Members want a position until they get it. Then they slack. PinknMe wasn't active at all. She did nothing a Co-Owner should do, so I had to remove her... but I'd already made a big stink about her being there. I made a contest, a cover scenery, a poll, spot topic. I decided to just remove her without a word. Nobody even noticed. It was lucky. I think they didn't notice because she never went anyway!

Sometimes people do notice what you've taken back. They don't understand or they don't want it to be true. They can get angry. I've had a few angry members before, but it kind of lets me know who the nice people are. One of my Special Managers turned not so nice on my yesterday. She proved to me that I made the right choice, to down grade her.

 When dealing with Angry Members:
  • Explain yourself nicely.
  • Don't fight back by insulting or swearing. They have a report button too.
  • You can decide if you want to report them if they swear or insult you.
  • Taking screen shots for later is what I always do. (I told this girl I had proof she cursed and she said "I never cursed".)
  • Keep your calm, that's what nice about the internet, you can control what you say. So keep it nice and clean!
  • Don't lie to her.
Thank you for Reading, I hope this was Helpful! :)

Can I Create Something for You?

Dear Readers,

I will create something at request though like a drag and drop presentation, wig or graphic. Just ask and I'll tell you if I can do it. It's usually free! I just like getting my work out there...

Q's & A's about E-mazingstories

These are questions asked by supersassy1233: (1) Did you expect E-mazingstories to be such a big hit, the club has almost 1300 members? My Answer: Aww... thanks for calling it a hit-um, I always try my hardest at whatever I set my mind to and I had hoped it would one day have over a thousand members. I'm just so proud of my club and how amazing my members are. They're so active, nice and I've made a some great friends out of them...
(2) How did you come up with the idea for E-mazingstories? My Answer: Well, at the time I had another club called E-mazingGirlz or something like that and I was continuing the pattern of using my name in the title- plus I was making a story club because of the amazing club I wrote my story in called YOURstories, which was sadly deleted for a reason I never found out for sure.
(3) What do you think is the best way to get members to be more active? My Answer: It's so hard to get people to be active, but I think the best way to get them to be active is for the owner to be active. I see clubs that the owner only posts in once a week, so why should the members be any better?

(4) How do you come up with great contests? My Answer: I'm usually exploring other clubs when I'm not in E-mazingstories. Most of my Contest ideas are inspired by other amazing clubs like SD-Designs, Words_On_Paper, etc. I like easy contests that let the members be create or share their opinions on things! I leave credit if I copy a contest close enough to theirs.

(5) Finally, do you have any tips for people who want their clubs to be more successful? My Answer: It's going to take a while. My club took over 2 years to get to this point. I worked almost everyday posting in it and helping it grow. I haven't broadcast that much, it's mostly just time and waiting for the right members to join who will help it to reach it's full potential. It's important to have something original and exciting. Always be organized and detailed so your members know what's going on! I wish good luck to all clubs! ♥
