• Patterns- A sophisticated medoll should include solid colors or simple patterns like plaid, stripes or polka dots. Use a variety of different patterns for the best effect and avoid graphics and text, especially in bright colors. In the end, you can use anything you want, just tread carefully. Use the patterns on the medolls shown as your guide.
• Fabrics- A sophisticated medoll could be made using any fabric, but like I said about colors, there are fabrics that make it harder to pull off. I think you should avoid spandex and other shiny fabrics. Use fabric with texture, like wool, lace or fur. Look at the photos shown for examples of texture in sophisticated medolls.
The overall idea that I'm trying to share with you, is that a sophisticated medoll needs to be complicated. The definition of complicated is: consisting of many interconnecting parts or elements. You can make it complicated by using many different colors, patterns and fabrics that all work together. It takes good taste and practice, but if you can find the harmony in the different elements, you will have mastered the key to creating a sophisticated medoll.
