Hello! Well, I know I haven't posted in a while, and that's because my computer will not let me save/upload pictures, load youtube videos, load any sound, or open anything. The only thing that works is the internet.

I would love to post screenshots but unfortunately I can't, so this will be just a text post.

  Here are some myths you may have heard about the Stardoll Mystery Symbol.

  • Myth - You need to join a club or vote someone 5/5 to make the symbol appear.

  • Reality - You don't need to do anything to make the symbol appear. It will appear on it's own. Don't believe anyone who tells you otherwise.

  • Myth - The symbol stays in the same place.

  • Reality - The symbol's location is random and constantly changing. If someone finds the symbol on a certain page, you won't find it there too, even if it's within the same hour.

  Now, here are the 3 Most Important Facts about the Stardoll Mystery Symbol.

1. The symbol can be found at the bottom of any page, under the Stardoll logo and the Google +1 button.
2. The symbol looks like a hot pink makeup bag with lipstick and mascara poking out the top. Shown above to the left.
3. When you find the symbol you unlock an achievement called "THE NET" and earn 15 starpoints. Shown to the right.

  I hope this post sums up everything you need to know about Stardoll Mystery Symbol. If there's anything I've learned about this symbol, it's that it will appear when you least expect it. You just have to keep visiting different pages until it appears. It's like that saying "a watched pot never boils". If you stop looking, it will happen a lot sooner.

Stardoll during the Holidays

   First off, I want to wish my readers a Happy Holidays! Whatever you're celebrating this season, I hope you have lots of fun. In the spirit of all things worth celebrating, this post is going to go over a quick list of things Stardoll is currently offering during the Holidays. Think of these things as inspiration. Maybe you can include similar ideas in your clubs or stardoll blogs.

• Snow - Stardoll has sprinkled some snow at the top of the pages, as shown in the photo above. I think this is absolutely adorable. I suggest considering adding snow to your clubs/blogs for the holidays. It's a little thing that goes a long way on the cuteness.
• Hot Hot Buys Calender - Although the month is half way over, it's not too late to get in on some special items. A new item is released every day this month and you must buy it fast, because after a day it's gone again.  This could be a good inspiration for some kind of quick contest or special raffle, if you're feeling generous. • Shops in Starplaza - These are some of the shops that have new items out for the holidays: PopShop, Bonjour Bizou, Tis the Season, Polished and Pet-a-Porters. Click this sentence to visit the Starplaza and check out the wonderful decor, fashion and beauty products. Creating stardesign items during the holidays is a great idea. You're more likely to make sales since everyone's getting superstar cards for the holidays. That means extra spending money!

This is a special deal, because usually for $10 you only get about 6 weeks of superstar, 300 stardollars and 4 gifts. About the Suite Update (Positives vs Negative

   In case you haven't noticed, there's an update in your Stardoll Suite. It looks a little different, but don't panic. Everything is still there, you just access it a little different.
   I've been playing around with some of the features and I've made a list. Take a look and decide if you agree with me.

Positive changes:
• Since we removed "My Suite" from being automatically shown, the sidebar is less distracting.
• We can now view all of a person's suite rooms at once, instead of scrolling through them right and left.
• The camera is easier to exit, because instead of pushing the "X", you can click anywhere outside the camera.
• The camera's special effects are easier to access.
• The camera, save doll, recycle and full screen buttons are now labeled.

Negative changes:
• The camera doesn't appear to zoom anymore, which makes taking the picture you want a little harder.
• You can't access your suite as easily, you have to click the suite button first.
• Since the "My Suite" is not shown automatically, visitors are less likely to visit other rooms.

   As you can see, there are more positives then negatives in my opinion. This update is really nice. I think it's overall less distracting and more mature. Share your opinion in the comments, especially if you find the zoom feature on the camera!

How to make a Tribute Medoll

  Making a Tribute medoll is one of the sweetest things you can do. It shows that you are inspiring and dedicated to a cause. If you make a wonderful Tribute Medoll, you can get a lot of great feedback. Although, if you make a Tribute Medoll incorrectly, you might offend people. That's why I'd like to take the time to make this post.
 
  Let's start off with the Tribute Medoll ideas.

  Serious Tribute Ideas:

• Cancer is one of the most touching and common Tribute medolls you can pick. This kind of doll usually displays a head without any hair. 
• War is another really supportive Tribute medoll. This doll usually shows a uniform and your countries flag.
• Anti-Racism is a really tough Tribute idea to pull off. It usually displays a doll with a different skin color then you usually pick for you doll.
• Self Love would be a wonderful Tribute idea. It could include an inspiring message to others.

  Light Hearted Tribute Ideas:

• Celebrity is a really fun Tribute idea. They usually look similar to the real person and display why this celebrity is important to you.
• Fictional Character can be another hard one, especially if the book hasn't been turned into a movie. Use your imagination and use props to make this doll easy to recognize.

  Steps to a Successful Tribute Medoll

 

1. Pick a Tribute idea. When choosing your theme, be sure to consider difficulty and how much knowledge you have on this subject. If you can relate to it more, it might push you to make a better final product.
2. Do your research. This is important so that you get your facts right and don't offend anyone. It will also get you more excited about your cause and give you inspiration. Skipping this step may end badly.
3. Find some Reference Photos. Look online for photos relating your cause. Find some to model your doll after. It will help you to stay realistic and work for a better final product. As always, be careful when looking online. 
4. Build the Tribute Doll. A Tribute medoll should take more time then your usual medoll. Don't settle for good. Work until it's great, because it sends a stronger message. Also, remember to use your reference photos.
5. Set the Scene. If you enjoy going above and beyond, make a setting too. Decorate one of your rooms to fit your Tribute theme. Reference photos are more important then ever in this step. 
6. Write an Inspiring Message. It's always a good idea to explain your Tribute medoll. I suggest including your inspiring message in your presentation. You might include: personal experiences and famous quotes. Always remember to check your facts, so you're not giving people false information. Last but not least, stay positive.
7. Ask for Feedback. Once you've finished, ask your friends and family for feedback. It's a good idea to ask for feedback right away, so in case you've made a mistake, you can fix it before anyone is offended. As always, remember that criticism is a part of getting better. So make sure you can handle being critiqued, before you ask for people's opinions. People can say hurtful things, especially when they're talking about issues they're passionate about.

What is The Stardoll City?

   A few months ago, I posted about a mysterious photo by Stardoll Staff, depicting a city. We made guesses as to if it were real or not and now we know. It's real. Stardoll users just got this message in their inbox's giving us a heads up about updates coming soon, next week. 

   They say this update will make it "easier to find your way around." My theory is that the Stardoll City will be a site map, where we click on various buildings to visit places on Stardoll. I can't be for sure, but that's what I'm guessing. If I'm correct, then this update may be a step back in maturity, because other sites that function like this are Polly Pocket.com and Barbie.com.

Winning National Covergirl - My Experience

You log on everyday to see there is a new Covergirl, and for your country, a National Covergirl. Every Stardoll user dreams of the day they win one of these, but you really never thought it could happen.

Today, I won.

I woke up, and went to school like every other day. When I came home, I logged on to Stardoll like I do pretty  much everyday. This is what I saw:

There I was, on the front page of Stardoll. When I saw it, I honestly had to refresh the page, and when it was still there, I seriously thought Stardoll was broken. The thing is, I never ran for anything. I had 400sc and 4 stardollars, not even enough to send one broadcast.
Canada is the second largest country in the world. How could it have been me?


I'm sorry, I honestly have no tips considering there is nothing I did any differently when I won this, but this is just a reminder to EVERYONE that you don't have to spend hundreds of dollars on Stardoll. Just keep playing and honestly, one day your dreams might come true like mine. (:

Q: How many times had you entered MSW before you made the finals in 2013 and how did your experience help you this year? 
A: The first year of MSW I wanted to participate, but I don't even have reached the semi-finals. So I skipped the next years. And this summer, when the new season started, I thought " Why not? ".

Q: How important is broadcasting for your campaign and how many Stardollars did you spend? 

A: For my campaign, I have used broadcasting to a single moment: the first round. I sent messages for 1485 SD . To have the money, I sold a lot of LE. Then, for the semi-final and final, it was me who made my own campaign. Several days a week, I went in several suites to send message in guestbooks . It's certain that broadcasting is very essential and useful in this competition. But if you do not have the money, you should search for another solution.

Q: How will you improve your campaign for next year's MSW? 

A: This MSW season taught me a lot in terms of communication to adopt . So to improve my campaign next year , I intend to organize myself better and use more broadcasting . But for that, I should to save SD!

Q: What advice do you have for future participants of MSW? 

A: Be original and don't expect people to come you vote by themselves. It takes some time and energy if you want to go far in the competition. As in any contest.

Q: What is the most important thing to include in your campaign?

A: The most important thing to include in my campaign was the communication plan. If you want to be voted, you should be known and that's why it is necessary to talk to people.

Q: Do you think all styles of medolls have an equal chance of winning MSW and how would you describe your style?

A: Each person has their own style and each doll is a reflection of this style. This is a good thing, because a rich world is a world of diversity. The problem is that most people don't like what is out of the ordinary . It's for this reason that the winners of MSW seems be the same year after year... too bad.

Q: How do you spend your time on Stardoll?

A: I spend a lot of time on Stardoll, too much time. The minutes passed, then hours...

Q: What Stardoll skill do you feel most knowledgeable about and what advice do you have for others who practice it?

A: I can't rate myself, but if I think about it, I had a lot of compliments for my album. So with the voice of the people: my album lol. Otherwise, it's pretty hard to give advice about how to practice because we practice with what we have in our head. There is no manual.

Q: Who inspires you and what important message have they taught you?

A: When I was little, I watched a lot of movies full of magic (especially Harry Potter!), I was fascinated and I dreamed of being one of those characters. Growing up, this desire has never left me. So I felt obliged to use magic to create certain suites. What important message have they taught? It makes us aware of the beauty of things. It makes our hearts better.

Q: Any final advice for Stardoll users? 

A: The only advice that seems essential to me: Do not be followers, be actors! Build up your own personality. No longer follow the mass . Be unique.
